The Mississippi State Department of Health issued an alert on Friday ordering any coronavirus-positive individuals to isolate for at least 10 days or face up to a 5-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $5,000. I looked up the Mississippi's Crime and Punishment chart. Let's compare other crimes to the breaking of quarantine. The offense of breaking quarantine is equal to the punishment for things like rape and armed robbery. It's actually less for impersonating or assaulting an officer!
